I was able to limp 5 miles to a fuel station by accelerating at JUST off idle to get enough speed roll. I bought the big cobi relay today for my car. Looking at the fuel pressure gauge under the hood indicated 22psi at idle, which is pretty consistent with what Ive seen over the life of the car. I believe both have to be working to normally start the car without hotwiring the pumps in the trunk to the battery. There are two relays behind the passenger seat. Its stated in the hundreds of pages Alfa manual I own(and even read). I know the car cannot start without the relay working. The ECU (big analog computer behind the passenger seat) has to tell those fuel injectors how long to spurt or not at all, and I understand nothing happens if that relay safety circuit isn't FIRST working. Also, if you know of a good Alfa shop, I. I think this is fairly common but looking for a concise description of the issue and the resolution from one of the members here. Yes you really need to know its spark first. From what I recall there should be one, but if it is missing, I would expect other problems than just the one with the idle actuator. Not the only solution, but if the car starts with a little help. I did not look thoroughly at the grounding yet, but when looking at the engine, I did not find a ground strap between the engine block and compartment.
